Prof. Gail S. Goodman is the Distinguished Professor of Psychology as well as Director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. The university is renowned for launching the modern science of eyewitness memory in children as well as using children who have been abused to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman's publications are extensive, she has received numerous grants, and has been the winner of many honors both national and internationally. She has been a consultant to numerous organizations and government officials across the world on policies and research concerning children who are victims of the justice system. She is also a consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center), of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a part of many professional organizations including the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychological Psychology of Traumatic Stress and Women 56). Professor. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman has been the president of 3 divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society, and Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
